There are so many beautiful beaches in the Algarve, each stunning for different reasons. The nearest beaches to the Fazenda are Fuseta and Baril/Pedras de Rei. Just across the Ria Formosa, the beach can be accessed by a small train or a very pleasing walk through the Nature Reserve that takes ten minutes. From the sand dunes you can see the village of Santa Luzia and the salt flats of Tavira, taking in the wildlife as you pass by.
Ilha de Tavira - just a short ferry ride from the salt flats of Tavira. A pretty little island and gorgeous beach. Step off the boat and follow the path past the campsite and restaurants. Various watersports are offered here including jetskis, donuts, banana boats etc.
Ilha de Armona - Catch the ferry or a water taxi from Olhao and in under half an hour you can be transported back in time. The port is a hub of activity with restaurants and bars galore, small shops selling essentials and the local fisherman's stall selling his catch of the day. Relax into island life, enjoy the beaches and lagoon and laze the day away.
Cabanas - a stretch of endless Sandy beach and turquoise sea.
Manta Rota - a long wide, popular beach, just after Tavira.
Praia Verde - Endless wide beach, just before the Spanish border. With great restaurants just overlooking it.
Faro Beach - just outside of the airport, but don't be put off by that. Access Faro Island across a small bridge, a fabulous long stretch of beach and good restaurants.
